APPLICATION INFORMATION

Eligibility:
Tutti Chamber Music is open to string and piano students between the ages of about 10-18, or by teacher recommendation and director approval for other ages younger or older.  A good rule of thumb for minimum playing level is Suzuki book 4, with solid reading skills.  Younger students should be prepared for a rigorous all-day schedule and independent practicing, and parent chaperoning is required for underage students.  Please contact us with any special cases.

Fees and Deadlines:
Application:
  • Deadline to apply: May 1st, Applications are now closed!  Please come back next year!
  • Application fee (non-refundable, covers site maintenance): $25
  • Late fee after May 1st (acceptance only to fill needs): $40
Program Fee:
  • Tuition for Tutti 2024 is $375
If you are accepted, a $50 Deposit, applied to tuition, is due within 10 days of acceptance to hold your spot.  The remainder is due June 1st.

Concerto Competition:
Applications for the concerto competition are at the end of the camp application page.  Applicants will be invited to audition live before the week of camp begins on Saturday, June 15.  You may request to audition with a staff accompanist, provided by Tutti, or bring your own.  Feel free to check the eligibility of your repertoire selection by emailing [email protected].

Financial Assistance:
We offer need-based aid to musicians who would be unable to attend otherwise, up to 100% of financial need.  There are limited merit scholarships available to fill instrument gaps and to help create well-rounded chamber groups.  We also want all serious young musicians to be able to attend regardless of financial ability.  Please fill out the scholarship question on the application if you want to be considered for a need-based scholarship.

INCLUSION SCHOLARSHIP:
We are offering a few full-scholarship positions to students from underrepresented backgrounds and those with outstanding financial need.  In order to apply for the inclusion scholarship, please fill out the appropriate form below.

Application and Recording Guidelines:
Please submit the following 3 items:
1) An application at the bottom of this page
2) A video audition, 3-7 minutes in total length, of two contrasting solo pieces.  One solo piece will suffice if it demonstrates both lyrical and fast, technical playing.
Tips:
  • Accompaniment is preferred but not required.
  • Your entire instrument, face, and both hands should be visible in the video.
  • Sound quality is very important in making your video, and please be sure lighting and background is appropriate for the audition committee.  Smartphone quality is generally sufficient; there is no need for fancy equipment.
3) An interview response:

Interview Questions (PICK 1): Answers can be short, 30 seconds to 1 minute.  Younger applicants: It may help to film this as a conversation with someone - a parent - and it will help us get to know you!
1) If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
2) If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
3) How does music transcend barriers?

You may submit your 2 solos and interview response in separate videos if needed.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOW OVER.  We hope to see you next year!
